Managing Director Opportunity

A core driver of Tyton Partners’ success is the Managing Director, who plays a critical leadership role within the organization by driving and creating value across business development, client delivery and relationship management, and broader Firm growth initiatives.

A Managing Director generates business through the expansion of new and existing relationships and serves as a key advisor on multiple client engagements. The ideal candidate should have a track record of leading engagements that delight clients, demonstrable success identifying and closing new opportunities, and driving market-facing thought leadership activities.

This is an ideal position for an experienced professional services leader with exposure to the global education sector.

Primary responsibilities of a Managing Director include:

  • Drive new client acquisition by leveraging past relationships or building new ones within various segments of the education ecosystem
  • Expand Tyton’s existing client relationships by selling new engagements and building ongoing advisor-of-choice relationships with C-suite executives and senior leaders
  • Serve as an advisor on 3-4 client engagements simultaneously, providing subject matter expertise and a senior perspective to ensure successful client delivery
  • Develop the Firm by leveraging internal and external networks, delivering market-facing thought leadership, building deep knowledge of sector trends and, mentoring team members

Desired Skills

  • Strong client delivery and business development experience in a professional services context; a track record of closed business in strategy consulting is strongly preferred
  • Values a team-based environment and embraces collaboration to achieve both Firm and individual goals
  • Brings growth mindset and solution orientation to interactions with all team members and external clients/ partners
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and team-building skills; able to manage up, down, and across an organization
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with an ability to work independently to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working in dynamic and evolving environments
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to ~30%

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years consulting or other relevant professional experience, or an MBA, PhD, or EdD, with 7+ years relevant professional experience
  • Strong, demonstrated experience sourcing and closing consulting engagements in the Education sector. Business development experience with strategy consulting services strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated interest in and exposure to the Education sector
